I Love German Wine and Food – A Mosel Riesling
Moselle Valley has long been regarded as one of the most picturesque river valleys in the world. This region, previously known as Mosel-Saar-Ruwer toThree Rivers, Riesling is proud. Some of the greatest Rieslings in Germany and indeed all over the world come from the Moselle valley. Experts can also say Mosel Rieslings because of the slate of local soil, which can give you a taste of flint. Mosel vineyards are among the steepest in the world wine producers, sometimes reaching 70 degrees. The land is so precious that every spring local workers pulling buckets of soil on these slopes, reversing the effect of temporarythat the rain washes the soil down every winter.
Mosel is among the thirteen German wine regions fifth in terms of area planted with vines and wine. Just over three quarters of the wine produced here is quality QbA wine and a little 'less than a quarter higher QmP. Only one percent is table wine. More than half of Mosel Riesling. German Muller-Thurgau hybrid equivalent to about 20% of wine production. Thirdly, the historical differenceElbing that the Roman period, and the main grape varieties in neighboring Luxembourg. Only about 2% of the Mosel wine.
Basically the Mosel Valley runs from Koblenz not far from the capital city of Bonn in Germany for the city of Trier, which lies very close to the border. These two cities are Mosel Weinstrasse (Mosel Wine Road), which is about 140 miles (224 km) along the eastern side of the river, and is a little 'less linked to the western side. OfOf course you can take the highway to get between Koblenz and Trier at breakneck speed. If you do, you miss the small towns and vineyards along the route.
Bernkastel-Kues is a city of about eight thousand, that both sides of the Moselle Bernkastel Kues, and sits on the east bank of the West Bank. Bernkastel is more than seven hundred years, but the area was inhabited for thousands of years ago. Bernkastel is beautiful medieval market with manyTimbered houses, some in the fifteenth century. Be sure to see the ruins of the castle ruin Landshut (Landshut Castle) for an excellent view over the city and surrounding vineyards. The first weekend in September marks the annual wine festival in the heart of eastern Moselle (wine festival in the Middle East Mosel River Valley), which includes a festive procession and fireworks hugeShow.
Bernkastel is the home of Bernkasteler Doctor vineyard that produces one of the more expensive wines in Germany. Wine reviews
St. Urban-Hof Riesling Kabinett 2005 8.6% alcohol about $ 20.00
We begin with an indication of marketing materials. 2005 Riesling Kabinett Piesport Goldtröpfchen – still manages to Cabinet true delicacy for the palate, the Weis attributes collected in the front and partially open to show if this site with higher returns. Contact with skin and clarifying the minimum driving in the cellarCompensate for any risk of dilution. (With a lower-performing properties to excel in Spätlese and Auslese.) Pineapple, black currant, black grapes, apples, Golden Delicious and dominate the proceedings, dressed with a touch of smoke, dirt and acidity delicious. This is still a "small" archetypal Mosel and a great value … And now for the review.
Before the dinner, I thought this wine to your taste. It was soft and acid to clean the palate with bubbles of light. Then I buy sweet and sour chicken wings and barbecue. The wine was good, with a little 'sour. Now I was ready to begin, so to speak. My first pairing with a commercial chicken grilled with peppers skin-coated, fried potatoes, chicken fat, and cut some slices of cucumber disappointing. The wine is fruit intensified to meet the chicken is fat. This Riesling was quite round, when the melt-in-your-mouth potatoes.
The next meal was an omelet with a localProvolone and Turkish salad. The wine was long, thick and nicely sweet. The word came to mind feathers. This kind of flowed especially after the Turkish salad. So I enjoyed a high-quality chocolate-coated vanilla ice cream bar. The wine kept its acids, it was almost a good game.
The last meal was more than a snack. I ate pancakes filled with a generous dollop of Texas at 14% of sour cream. The wine was bold, sweet and pleasantly acidic, but, frankly, wastedsuch plebeian fare. I have a bottle of homemade grilled chicken finished on the honor of making wine. Although the barbecue sauce was not sweet, the combination was excellent.
The first cheese from France grew fat with a Dutch Edam that was nutty, a little ', and a bit' harsh. Riesling sweetness seemed to reinforce a notch, and it seems like tingling acidity. It 'been a long time since I was a wine and cheese so much anguish in France. Then I went to a mild-tasting ItalianFriulano. The wine was sour with the sugar in the background.
Verdict. This Riesling is a winner. I would not hesitate to make it a leading model of the German couple poultry feed, the kind that you pay a lot of money there, over there. To 8.9%, this is one of lower alcohol wines that I tasted in a long, long time. And you know what, I lack a little '.
