B & B with breakfast Straight From Heaven
The Buttonwood Inn is situated in a small town called New Hampshire, North Conway, but there is nothing minor about their breakfast. You can start with somethingpumpkin bread, walnut and apricot-orange scones, cinnamon rolls maple, walnut, blueberry coffee cake Crumb, fruit or hot cereal crispy, served with fresh fruit topped with raspberry sauce. It would be enough breakfast for me, but my head is just warming up. Next is a tasty dish like mushrooms, sausage and Cheddar Strata, scrambled eggs with goat cheese and chives and toasted one side of Red Bliss potatoes with rosemary. Then comes the sweet appetizer: fried FrenchToast casserole with Pecan and Wild Maine Blueberry topping. Light or yeasted Belgian waffles with fresh blueberry sauce. Hail to Buttonwood.
Mission Oak Inn offers from Illinois, Henry some wonderful breakfast dishes like French crepes and fabulous Blueberry Banana Pancakes, but it was his dinner, I tied the attention. Or pork in cider, grilled marinated, then smothered with homemade apple / peach chutney?
So I happen to take Jane Hawk Valley Retreat on the phone. Sue Harbour Ridge Inn in Osage was not going to fly. She emailed me with their choices, and appreciate personal attention. Another popular French Toast begins with slices of grilled fresh pineapple, ham, cheese slices. Add sourdough bread French toast soaked in batter, grilled and served with strawberry jam jalapeno pepper. It also makes the eggs and butter to order with choice of things like fresh roasted peppers,Leeks, mushrooms, dried tomatoes, spinach, diced ham, cheese and fresh basil and dill. I was impressed. Judge Porter House in Natchitoches (where?), Louisiana is not to lose.
